Introduction
The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.
We have been successful in maintaining our high placement statistics over the years and the fact that our students bear the recession blues with record breaking placements itself is a testimony to our quality. Our ingenious alumnae have set new standards in the corporate world through their estimable contributions and it is my firm conviction that we will continue that legacy in the years to come.

Dr.J.Robert Victor Edward, Principal, Scott Christian College is the Chairman for the Placement Cell. Prof.R.Shanthikaran, Dean for Placement & Training, Head of the Department of Computer Applications is the Convener of the Placement Cell of Scott.
The Placement Cell of Scott comprises of seven Teaching Faculty Members namely : Dr. V.Bini Marin, Dr. B.Shamina Ross, Dr. T.Anand Thiagaraj, Dr.A.Yardily , Prof. D.Samuel Johnson, Prof.P.D.Sheena Smart and Dr. V.Brinsely, to support all the activities of the placement programmes.
The Placement Cell of Scott Christian College was very active during the academic year 2018-2019. The endeavor of Campus Placement Cell of Scott is to get students placed in reputed multinationals, government jobs, NGO’s, school and private sector. All the final year students of Scott were entitled to placement assistance, counseling for employment and self employment sessions.
The Campus Placement Cell of Scott assures support to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process by making the college infrastructure available to them. The Campus Placement Cell of Scott acts as an interface between the industry and the young minds and also primarily enables the students to select their career options.
The following are the list of activities rendered by the Campus Placement Cell of Scott during the academic year 2018-2019.
1. NIIT and the Placement Cell conducted a Seminar on “Updation about the latest Technology Techniques” on 9thAugust 2018.IIIyear students from the department of Physics, commerce and Computer Applications participated and got benefited.
2. Placement Cell of Scott & E-Colleague(Breezen Technologies) conducted a Mega Job Fair 2018 on 1stof September 2018. More than 2000 members registered and 730 members got their call letter for the job on that day.
3. On 28th August2018,Placement Cell of Scott and Indian Institute of Banking conducted a Training Program on “How to face Bank Exam”. Final year UG students from the Department of Commerce, Business Administration and Computer Applications attended the program.
4. On 4th December 2018, Placement Cell of Scott & Government of TamilNadu Women Welfare Organization organized the III Mega Job Fair 2018 in our college.More than 700 members throughout the district registered and only 230 got their call letter.
5. On the 28th of January 2019, the Placement Cell of Scott conducted a Seminar on “How to teach in a class and how to improve their Teaching Skills”. Dr.V.Bini Marin from the Department of Business Administration was the resource person.All the PG students participated in the seminar.
6. On 29th of January 2019, AKT Group of Institutions,Kallakurichi conducted a Placement Drive for the recruitment of Teaching Staff for their Institution. Dr.V.Lizy, Vice-Principal,AKT Engineering College,Mrs. Sumathi, Principal, AKT Engineering College and faculties from the Department of Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry conducted the Interview. 76 students participated and 21 students got selected.
7.On 11thFebruary 2019 , VSR International Higher Secondary School, Thisayanvilai came to our college and conducted a Placement Drive to recruit teachers for all subjects in their school. 38 students participated and 9 got selected.
8. On 13th of February 20Radiance IAS Academy and the Placement Cell conducted a motivation program for all final year UG students on “ How to write Competitive Exams”.
9. On the 27th of February 2019, Tech Skills Career Services conducted a Seminar for the final year UG and PG students of the Department of Botany, Zoology and MicroBiology about ”Awareness to join Medical Coding and Medical Transcription”. Mr. R.Rangarajan, Consultant of Techskills Career Services delivered a special talk on motivation to join Medical Coding.
10. On 21st February 2019, SRV Group of Institutions, Samayapuram came to our college for Campus Drive for the recruitment of teachers for their school.75 students from various departments participated and only one got selected.
11. On the 25th of March 2019, Mr.Jerald and Mr. Nishanth from “SEED Foundation” gave an awareness training program for all the willing final year UG students on “How to handle your mobile”. All the UG girl students participated and got benefitted.
12. On 26th March 2019, Government of India organized a program “Skill India” for all the UG students for a free training in “Skill Development”. All students participated and registered themselves for the training programme.
