Physical Education

The vision of physical education is to provide opportunities to the players and coaches of tomorrow to
rise up as innovative athletes , to be an inspiring player, to mould as world's best loved challenge taker
,to play with dedication ,sportsmanship and team spirit , to accept failures in life and be optimistic ,to
strive for the growth of sports and also to continue to involve in sports and games forever and forever
and thus to grow big with sports.

The mission of the Department of Physical Education is to guide students to seek divine help, to never compromise with honesty, to hear both sides before judging, to obtain counsel of others, to be sincere yet decisive, to develop one proficiency a year, to never procrastinate, to maintain a positive attitude and to live with integrity so that they can live a life of success to make a difference in the lives of others

UG Syllabus

The Department of Physical Education, Health Education and Sports came into being in Scott Christian College (Autonomous) with the introducation of an Undergraduate course(3 years)-B.SC Physical Education from the year 2002-2003. Soon the Department established itself as one of the premier centers of excellence in sports activities in the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University area. The first batch was sent our in May 2005 and the second batch in May 2006. It is a rare honour indeed for the nascent department that both the batches have secured excellent results, bringing the Gold Medal (First Rank) twice in succession besides three ranks in 2005 and one rank in 2006.
Mr.R.Dinesh Devaraj of Cl. III Physical Education, who won the Gold Medal in National Championship in Fencing(Epee Category) was selected to represent India in the Junior Commonwealth Facing held in Chennai from January 24 to 29-2006.
The Department also effect extra credit courses in Yoga and First Aid which have attracted a large number of student of other disciplines as well.
It is gratifying to record the performance of our students who are in good positions as Pysical Directors and Tutors in ?reputed institutions, apart from serving in the defence, police and fire services.
